MCCD also organized the Madison County Continuum of Care for Homeless. In 2000 MCCD and the Continuum of Care successfully applied to HUD for funding of 20 units of transitional housing, 12 units of perminent supportive housing for homeless mentally ill and funding to hire a youth counselor to work with homeless youth. The increased homeless services will go a long way towards providing a stable living invironment and support services for homeless people. Programs: Architectural Barrier Removal, Community Development Block Grant, Community Gardens, Community Services Block Grant, CSBG Scholarship Program, Economic Development, Emergency Assistance, Emergency Homeless Services Program, Emergency Shelter Program, HOME Program, Homebuyer Assistance, Housing Counseling, Housing Development, Housing Rehabilitation, Ilinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Public Facility Repair and Improvement, Transitional Housing for Homeless Families, Lead Abatemont and Education on Lead Hazards. |
