We continue to pursue program initiatives that eliminate barriers to self-sufficiency. In 1997, we established the Ride-N-Work Program initiative to identify the transportation barriers that prevented many of our clients from obtaining and/or maintaining gainful employment. Our untimate goal is to unconditionally eliminate poverty and its causes in Lake County. Programs: Comminity Services Block Grant (Rental, Food Pantry, Utility, Prescription), Family Debelopment, Illinois Home Evergy Assistance Program, Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program, Micro-Enterprise Peer Lending-Program, Scholarships, Prevention Services (At Risk Mentoring, Teen Career REACH, Parent Support Group, Housing/Home Ownership Counseling. Transitional Housing, Acquisition and Rehabilitation of Properties in Destress, Head Start Program. Wrap-around Child care Program, Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, Outreach, Information and Referral. |
