Anna and one of her osns are disabled and each is collecting monthly SSI payments. The other two sons are collecting TANF payments. In addition the family resides in Section 8/subsidized housing. In the last two years, Anna connected with the Family Self-Suffciency Program (FSS). As a result of this she decided to complete her GED. Upon completion of her GED she applied for and was awarded a CSBG scholarship to assist with the costs of her college education. In additon to utilizing the scholarship funds and the FSS program, the client received assistance from LIHEAP, WIA/IETC, Basic Needs/She vouchers, and medical assistance. Anna remains a client of the FSS program and continues to be case managed. Anna is working on an associate's degree and working part-time through help from WIA/IETC and her case manager. Anna has turned her life around with the help of our CAA and is on her way to being self-sufficient.
