| Illinois Community Action Development Corporation
The Illinois Community Action Development Corporation is a statewide affordable housing development organization formed to partner with community action agencies to develop affordable housing. We have completed one project in West Frankfort and are in the process of completing a second project in Beardstown (see pages 4-5 in 2005 Annual Report.) These are both affordable rental housing projects for families and individuals. We are interested in the full range of affordable housing including for-sale housing, preservation of existing affordable housing, supportive housing and housing for senior citizens.We also provide training and technical assistance to build the capacity of community action agencies and their non-profit partners to develop and manage affordable housing. In 2004 we had 4 2-day workshops on developing affordable rental housing. The Director of Housing Development provides technical assistance to our members on a range of topics. And we are working intensively with six community action agencies to increase their capacity through training and technical assistance.
